    The fifth alpha of Nexus 1.0.0, improving notifications and making the app smaller and more reliable on top of alpha4.

    Features

    • Conversation notifications: On Android, messages from the same chat now stack into one notification showing each sender's name and avatar.
    • Sender names in group notifications: Notifications from room now show who sent each message.
    • System emoji: Nexus now uses your device's emoji instead of bundling its own, so emoji match the rest of your system.

    Fixes

    • AVIF images now load on Linux on ARM (aarch64), and animated AVIFs play.
    • Nexus no longer shows sync errors right after coming back to the app on Android, as syncing now pauses while it's in the background.
    • Notification sound settings are now respected on all platforms.
    • Denied notification permissions are now handled gracefully.
    • Reactions with custom emoji that fail to load no longer show an error dialog.
    • The Android download is now much smaller, as the APK no longer includes builds of libmpv not meant for your current architecture.
