- gpl : all derieved work must be of gpl license and thus open source . it is a copyleft license agpl : for server side apps mainly means only frontend but backend is to be open source too. it is extension of gpl lgpl : it is bridge between mit and gpl and is weak copyleft license. it is used for libraries mainly so that people dont have to disclose whole program just bcz for using libraries but any modification done on that library must be released.
- mit,bsd : permissive license and anyone can do whatever they want with it but have to mention that it is fork of the project and mention contributors
